A Stand for Women’s Rights

image

              Human Rights Activist
      Sailor Veteran Jose A. Rodriguez

As I’ve learned and ripped my life apart, I understand why I can associate with almost every cause.  Ive learned that I believe all men and women should be treated equally.  I look at our constitution and I tell the World, “We are not there yet around the World much less the USA.”
As I became a voice of what many call, “The backbone to equality.”
Targeting a movement for the lgbt in the military in the USA to repeal Dont Ask Don’t Tell.
Becoming that voice and a face I have learned through my life that I have a passion for all rights, equal rights.
I take a stand for women rights now.
I would do my research for the right candidates as I keep up with the World.
I’ve learned that not even Africa citizens have equal rights now.
Being from Texas I have learned that we have a great candidate in Senator of Texas Wendy Davis.

image

                    Senator of Texas
                       Wendy Davis

I find we have a possible President candidate for the USA in Hillary Rodham Clinton.

image

                Hillary Rodham Clinton

I look at democrats.
I look at republicans.
I come to find out that republicans are fighting for their jobs and to put a President in Office and the democrats are fighting for the people.
With this said,  “I want the World to stop and look at women. Look at your grandmother, mother, daughter and sisters. Everyone should be treated equally. Not as dumb barbies.”
“I take my stand for equality for all people!”
I call it the New Civil Rights Movement.

My Snuff Film Experience – Sailor Veteran Jose A. Rodriguez

image

A snuff film is a motion picture genre that depicts the actual murder of a person or people, without the aid of special effects, for the express purpose of distribution and entertainment or financial exploitation.[1]Some filmed records of executions and murders exist but have not been made or released for commercial purposes.

As I had prepared myslef mentally and equipped with the usage of the drugs for my so much awaited revenge.  I would finally be approached by the guy that I met before the San Diego CA 2009 assult.
This guy would come to my door and invite me out to meet his friend.
I didnt want to scare him off by telling of what happen the week after I met him. Hadn’t seen him since or spoken to him.
As we arrive to the location. He would walk in drop and drop down and perform oral. I stand there and watch and be like dang…. More like a shock.
He would stop and say he had to leave for a second and walk back in collect cash and leave again.
So I would think, something is not right.
I stall and call my friend and would not answer phone. I would then know game was on.
I was ready and prepared.
The pnp.
He would touch me and undress me. I would seduce him and play along. I would put myslef mentally like a pornstar.
He would try to sleep with me and almost felt the need to let him but I would stop him for he had hiv.
I would do his drugs.
-meth
-ghb
-poppers
-sex pill
The combination of drugs to cause a cardiac arrest.
Here’s the ghb. I need a chaser. I have cokes, milk and juice etc….
Ha…. I play the game right back.
Juice first and he would give me a long straw of ghb. I would spit it back in cup and play crossed over. He did this several times. I would change my drink selection just so he would give me new cup. Why dont you want to drink out of same cup. Because I want a different drink.
As night went on friend never showed. But the first client walked in. He was to have sex with me for big $. I would have no choice. So as I later on him I would whisper and ask, are you hiv pos or neg.
Pos he would say. I would play crossed over and lay on my back opposite of the customer.
He would be behind computer foot of the bed. He would be, what are you waiting for. I would say, nothing with seducing eyes. And he would jump in and finish job. I would lay there and watch.
He would whisper to his ear and they guy would get freaked out. Get off bed and roll himself into a ball. He would say he had to work in the morning and wouldn’t let him go.
He would tell me. Look in the mirror at camera. I would say what camera. He would smile and smerk just kidding.
I would seduce like a porn star.
As it started to light up outside he let the guy go. He would start to set up room. But would make a call to his boyfriend.  I would ask, were is your boyfriend.  Hes already in another country waiting for you. I heard call just playing crossed over. He would ask, are you hungry? Umm no…. here look through these clippings. They were grocery clippings. In would put my finger prints on them. Then he would ask me to ifn I wanted to listen to music. He would hand me a stack of cds. I would look and notice the titles. Notice Whitney Houston and didn’t recognize the other artist. I will always love you. Depressing music I would notice. Then he would hand me porn movies. I would put my hand prints on them. I would now have everything around me and I would be in middle of bed.

image

2 creates on floor tipped over. A box of empty bud light on floor. And a rope with a neck collar on foot of bed.
I want you to watch a movie. The hispanic guy is so handsome. Your going to love it.

image

I would watch it and as it went up my pants and up to the shirt and to my face around goes the camera to screen shot to model porn stars. I would shut video off.
You have to watch this! He would grab my face and squeeze it. Do you recognize him! Do you recognize him! No I dont want to watch it. Hes ugly.
Then this one you will like.
He would play another similar video but the questions were about the navy. I would turn off again as male was about to be put through oral. I dont like it. I dont know who he is and seduce him with my eyes and body and he would touch in amaze. And would leave room and I would make calls to prepare for my escape. As he would carry me to his car. My escape was to his left. She gets off car with gun in air and open passenger door and i would instantly say goodbye and run and jump in car as he tried to uncover his car. The chase would begin. ………

John Madden Hall of Fame – Chuys Restaurant – Supports Equality. Displays picture of Dont Ask Dont Tell Activist

image

Chuy’s Mexican Restaurant in Van Horn TX is a bizarre shrine to sports announcer John Madden. “By the grace of God, John Madden visited our restaurant,” begins the story on the back of the laminated plastic menu.
image
Look around the dining room to appreciate the full details of the shrine, including a throne-like chair emblazoned with Madden’s name and a mural depicting Jesus smiling down on the restaurant as Madden’s tour bus pulls into town.
image
Many sports announcers, athletes, coaches, actors and singers have stopped by the restaurant to visit John Madden Hall of Fame shrine and in the end making it a shrine of there own by leaving a promo picture dedicating it to the restaurant.  (Johnny Cash, Dwight Yoakam, Selena y Los Dinos, John Madden etc.)
image
News stations from around the country stop by to visit the restaurant during football season making it a stop on the road to the Super Bowl.
Now the question comes. Where does the LGBT COMMUNITY come in with food, sports, actting and music?
Well many are lgbt and some having great coming out stories im recent months.
After speaking with the owner of Chuys Restaurant, Paul Uranga who aslo has a degree in sports medicine and has worked with high school, college and NFL teams like the Van Horn Eagles, UTEP Miners of El Paso, Pittsburgh Steelers and others. Mr. Uranga was disturbed in hearing about Arizona almost passing the anti lgbt law Senate Bill 1062, which would have provided special legal protections to businesses and individuals that discriminate against LGBT people.
“Operating a business with my parents since 1959, we welcome everyone including the lgbt community.  Some of my staff is lgbt.”
After hearing about college football star Michael Sam who recently came out being gay and might be the first out NFL player if drafted in the NFL Draft this year, Mr. Uranga didnt have much to say but wishing him good luck and stating that no one should be discriminated because of who they love. A man or a women. Gay or straight. Talent is talent.
Mr. Uranga has followed the lgbt communities movement in recent years. Mr. Uranga has followed what many call the stepping stone to equality in the USA, Dont Ask Dont Tell Repeal(Sept. 20th 2011).
image

Mr. Uranga followed local Van Horn TX Activist Veteran Sailor Jose Rodriguez as he went cross country west coast to east coast starting in San Diego CA and ending in Washington DC advocating for the repeal of dont ask dont tell.
Rodriguez along the trip worked with organizations and other well known activist like GetEqual.org, H.E.R.O AZ, The Sanctuary Project Veterans.org,
Veteran Cpl. Evelyn Thomas, United States Marine Corps
Veteran Capt. James Pietrangelo II, United States Army
Veteran Lt. Dan Choi, United States Army
Mr. Uranga will be one of the first to display a portrait of courageous Veterans from all over the country fighting for equality. This will also be his first lgbt portrait on his wall of fame.
“What best way to show support to the lgbt community and showing off a portrait of 4 courageous US lgbt soldiers in action fighting for equality and displaying it in my restaurant. A moment that is now a big part of history when these soliders took action in Combat Boot Drop hitting Senator Webb’s office and causing the Senator to vote for the repeal after voting against the repeal.”

WITH BATED BREATH
“Famous for losing it all and becoming a symbol for equality for all. ”

I could feel the trauma in his voice as he spoke the words.
“I was being pulled across… the carpet… naked. They kicked me. The men pulled me away from the door. One told another, ‘he waking up. get the stuff! Then, five men held me down and poured clear liquid in my mouth through a tube…” said Jose A. Rodriguez from Van Horn, Texas. He’d planned his entire career in the service of the United States Navy. His story unfolded in a breathy, nervous, tone. I could hear that just in the retelling of his story the spark of fear in that moment is reignited. His suffering became my suffering and his voice the voice of every victim of abduction and rape by strange men. Beyond the primal urge to scream, Rodriguez is a Hispanic homosexual man that had been violated first by strange men he met at a gay bar and then again by the military when he was outed and “other than honorably discharged” from his exemplary career as an E3 in the U.S. Navy.

image

The details of the rape were leaked by the hospital he sought help from, after the rape he barely survived, to a fellow Sailor in the United States Navy. It was a blatant violation of the HIPAA law all medical personnel abide by. When that Sailor reported the incident to his superiors, the military’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy came into play as well.
Rodriguez was given the option by San Diego News 10 reporter wether to report story as Don’t Ask Don’t Tell violation putting him in jeopardy of being kicked out. Rodriguez chose to report story as Privacy Violation to continue his service.

image

The abduction and rape of Jose A. Rodriguez happened in June 2009 by five or six men. He can’t remember everything that happened after a night out in San Diego, California with his straight friend, Sailor Doster. She and Jose A. Rodriguez had a few days leisure time off from the USS PELELIU (LHA 5) of the U.S. Navy. They went out to a bar and had a drink as they had many times before. Having received a call from a friend of hers, inviting them to a gay bar called Rich’s, they met up with the man from the phone, but he insisted that he “couldn’t handle the drinks there” and left the bar as soon as they arrived. Rodriguez and Doster stayed at the bar as she’d befriended strangers on the dance floor. This is where things got strange for Rodriguez. He’d had two drinks but doesn’t remember anything after the second, except for waving goodbye to Doster while the men she’d befriended on the dance floor escorted him out..

image

“I’m in a towel, naked… and men are walking by. One of them shuts the door. I’m crawling and I can’t reach the door… Other flashback, Everyone is laughing. I’m being pinned to the ground… A hand on my neck and arms, a gun to my head. I’m yelling help and they grab my mouth and hold it open. I hear them say ‘Get the stuff he’s waking up.’ It was liquid in a tube. I see it and it hurts me that I couldn’t do anything to stop it. I can see their faces but I don’t know who they are. They are pulling and kicking me and I’m crawling on the floor… I’m getting burned on the carpet. I see people taking their clothes off…”

image

Rodriguez woke up after three days in a filthy hotel room. He was naked and bloodied, his skin burning and private areas bleeding. The hotel manager was above him yelling, asking for payment for the room. ”What? I don’t know where I am. I don’t know what happen…” was all he could manage to say.  ”Figures. This happens all the time.” the hotel manager replied, as he left the room in a huff. Rodriguez said his skin burned all over, and burned even more painfully as he showered off his body. He dressed so quickly that he ran into the street half naked, screaming for a passerby to please stop. No one stopped. Finally, a cab stopped and took him directly to a hospital. The hospital personnel knew he’d been raped, but no rape kit was administered. The hospital did not call the police. In fact, the hospital told him that they needed the bed and he could go to the police station himself. Rodriguez did the right thing by calling the police himself and waiting in the hospital bed until the police arrived to retrieve him. It was ten o’clock at night when the police arrived and by then the personal medical file had already been given to a person from his ship.

image

Rodriguez was administered a rape kit by the police, gave statements and was returned to his ship by 5am. The USS PELELIU LHA 5 CDO insited on a urine sample immediately, but SN Rodriguez had been so dehydrated from his ordeal that he begged for rest. The CDO granted one hour to drink water, give a urine sample and return to work for the day. To add insult to injury, US Navy MCBM Morales called all 3,000 shipmates aboard the USS PELELIU (LHA 5) to hear the announcement that E3 SN Jose A. Rodriguez had been the victim of rape and a were told not to speak to him or bring up the incident or else they would be punished. The sea men were relentless in their abuse on Rodriguez despite the “warning”.   Death threats and physical abuse by fellow crewmen were a daily occurrence. SN Rodriguez slept in hotels and his car because he feared sleeping in his barracks. At one point he was run off the freeways of San Diego by an unknown assailant. His anxiety, PTSD due to the rape, and depression caused the military to put him into their hospital rehabilitation program and would not let him out until he agreed to not be interviewed for the local news. The hospital SN Rodriguez was put in contained soldiers from all branches that also brow-beat and attacked him with the assumption that he was a gay man. Rodriguez’s sleep is plagued with PTSD incidents of fighting back. After a minor nose operation he even woke up to ten nurses holding him down from kicking and fighting for his life, yelling all the while, “Help; please don’t hurt me,” as he came out of anesthesia.

image

“They were like my angels, my guardian angels. I am so grateful to them.” Rodriguez said of Evelyn Thomas and Linda Saunders, the founders of Sanctuary Project Veterans. Evelyn Thomas and Linda Saunders of Sanctuary Project Veterans out of Carlsbad, California came to see Rodriguez in the military hospital when they’d heard his story and possible termination under the DADT policy. They saw what six months of military doctors were doing to Rodriguez. They took him from the military’s hospital by ambulance, as his body was shutting down, to a hospital they found safer. He’d survived two heart attacks. The doctors at the new hospital were aghast with the amount of medication he was on. The mixture of the seven prescriptions is what caused his body to shut down. The doctors removed him from all medications except two for anxiety and depression. SN Rodriguez was told that if he did not return to the military hospital, he could not be helped by the U.S. Navy any longer. Reluctantly, he returned but instead of being readmitted, he was given a final medical evaluation, driven to his barracks to pack his belongings, made to sign discharge papers then dropped at the edge of the military base– “Hereby other than honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy. It was that quick,” he said. “All in one day.4 hours. They didn’t even let me contact my family to say I was out.” I could hear his disbelief over the phone as I pressed on with the interview. He had so much to tell; this last year had been so difficult.

image

The Sanctuary Project Veterans was a ray of sunlight for Rodriguez, as it strives to be for every victim of he DADT policy. They’d put him in contact with everyone they could from doctors and lawyers to Congress woman Susan Davis (D-CA). Congresswoman Susan Davis received a letter of admission of guilt from the U.S.Navy that stated that the fellow officer that outed SN Rodriguez was given a “letter of reprimand” in punishment for his part in violating the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’s policy and also that Rodriguez denied military assistance by not completing the rehabilitation program they’d put him in; the one he left via ambulance. The Sanctuary Project and Rodriguez’s new lawyer Cassandra Thorse of Thorse Law in San Diego, CA has questioned why the police never bothered to check the surveillance tapes of that terrible night at Rich’s bar. Rodriguez found out that he’d made calls that night. No one reported his calls since they consisted of heavy breathing. The receivers of those calls thought his cellphone had misdialed in his pocket or some other explainable scenario. No one suspected such foul play. He has also spoken with an un-named witness that swears that she knows what happen to him. As she explained it to him, the visuals of Lady Gaga’s music video “Bad Romance” came to mind. He was force fed a clear liquid. The witness says he was drugged to the “cross-over” where his mind is gone, but his body is sexually alert as seen in the Lady Gaga in the video. The witness claims Rodriguez was video taped for a snuff film in which he should have died in, or soon after, by morning. The video was purportedly sold online at $70 a minute. The police have yet to investigate the crimes against Rodriguez; no arrests of the criminals have been made. No surveillance tapes have been asked for, but Rodriguez continues his plight for repealing the DADT policy. If such policy had not been in play, chances are Rodriguez would still be on his chosen career path.

image

The Sanctuary Project has appointed Rodriguez to be the Officer in Charge of Sanctuary Project. “The Sanctuary Project advocates for “Your Right to Serve Our Country and the Freedom to Serve in Your True Essence.” Our goal is to amend the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). Under military law, “being lesbian, gay, or bisexual (LGB) is grounds for discharge under current regulations, if disclosed. The Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy is a compromise: Orientation is a private matter. Character is not built on orientation.”
While going though evaluation Rodriguez would be put in a secret underground railorroad for the lgbt community. They would not trust the military as seeing what they were doing.

image

Rodriguez is determined to become the hero he has always meant to be. He survived a grizzly attack by strangers, the U.S. Navy, peers, and even some he once called friends. Jose A. Rodriguez is proud to be a face of repealing the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy and show how it can turn against exemplary members of the military. He is a proud and honorable man that will be standing in the Gay Pride parade in dress whites with is friend and co-worker in Sanctuary Project Evelyn Thomas, former Marine Chaplin also dismissed under the DADT policy, as the faces and voices for all victims of DADT.

“Now I want to be the voice for those who cannot speak. I lost my dream, I lost my career. They violated my civil rights. They wouldn’t even consider the one witness that came forward. They declared the case closed. I would not be alive if it had not not been for Linda, Evelyn and Porn Star Jason Crew who stepped in to provided a safe house until I could get back to my family,” Jose A. Rodriguez said with pride. He’s home now. His parents are happy he is home. Being of Mexican ancestry, Hispanic, means he is safe in the strong family bonds around him now. Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez support and love their son very much. They have every reason to be proud of their son as he says, “Hey, I’m proud, I’m Latino and proud to be who I am. You should be proud! ”I want to make a difference in the World.” I ended my call to Jose A. Rodiguez with, “I am proud of you, and I can’t wait to see you in the Gay Pride Parade of San Diego.” I felt inspired by this young man and I had to share his full story with you, the Being Latino familia. Thank you for reading.
Rodriguez was allowed to serve openly for 8 months as a out lgbt Sailor before his discharged because of his condition. Dont Ask Dont Tell was still in play. Rodriguez was outted.

Irish football captain thanks team’s ‘girlfriends and boyfriends’ for their support during the season

Ger Brennan, captain of St. Vincent’s All Ireland club team, makes casual remark in speech at end of tournament

image

It was the end of a successful tournament for the All Ireland football club St. Vincent’s when captain Ger Brennan made a very casual but powerful victory speech remark.

Holding a microphone and addressing a large crowd on Sunday (16 March), Brennan expressed his thanks to those who supported the team through its final victory over Mayo’s Castlebar Mitchels in Dublin’s Croke Park.

He then – without hesitation of special emphasis – specifically thanked the ‘families, girlfriends, boyfriends’ of the team members for standing behind the team.

‘There’s a lot of work that goes into playing for your club team,’ he said.

Brennan’s action in a team leadership role resembles that of LA Galaxy captain Landon Donovan who made a similar gesture in a far less public way last month.

Donovan, close friends with the team’s openly gay player Robbie Rogers, left a locker room note for his teammates calling for a mandatory boys night out that would not include any significant others.

‘No wives, gfs, bfs, sidepieces.’

Rogers, who is dating television producer Greg Berlanti (Arrow), noted the inclusion in a tweet to Donovan which simply stated: ‘Thanks for including me.’

Selena Impersonator Controversy
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) –

Honey Andrews is a local Selena impersonator who says this year the organizer of a Selena tribute event to be held at Cole Park won’t let her take the stage because she is transgender. We were there as the organizer sent a message to her apologizing and asking her to perform. Katia Uriarte has the story.

Selena Tribute Events Bars Transgender Impersonator – “Nobody wants to see a male person dress up like a girl”

image

CORPUS CHRISTI – Denied the chance to perform, because she’s a transgender woman. That’s what one woman claims she was told when she tried to pay tribute to Tejano superstar Selena at an upcoming event.

Honey Andrews lip-syncing wasn’t the problem, she says the fact she was born a man was. For the last 9 years Andrews considered herself a transgender woman, making the surgical switch from man to woman.

She’s got the looks and nails Cumbia, but this Selena impersonator recently was turned down the opportunity to perform in honor of her idol. She claims its because she once was a man.

“I already have enough, I have to go across all of the obstacles and for him to throw that in there, I just felt it was unfair,” says Honey Andrews, a transgender Selena impersonator

She’s performed at a Selena tribute for the last three years. With another tribute happening this year, she wanted to be involved in both. And that was the plan until she received a message last night from the coordinator, Mario Gomez:
“Sorry to inform you but Sunday’s tribute is booked.”
“Nobody wants to see a male person dress up like a girl”

“I had to read it like three times to so I could even get it through. You know? Understand. Oh my God I can’t believe. You know, I am over here try to do something good. Do something for Selena. I am sure she would not approve of something like that,” says Andrews.

Gomez explained over phone the messages sent to Andrews wasn’t worded poorly. The “nobody wants to see a male person dress up like a girl” were remarks said after her performance last year by audience members

“People complained to me that they don’t like, and uh. I guess. I just told him that uh. You know. I don’t know why I said that. Just uh letting him know that people were complaining to me that you know that they didn’t want to see someone dressed up as a female. A male dressed up as a female singing,” says Gomez over the phone.

“Getting into this business I knew I was going to come across people that were like they weren’t going to like me all the time. You know what I mean? It just so happens he’s one of them,” says Andrews.

Gomez Wednesday afternoon Gomez offered the chance to Andrews to perform at his event. He says she will perform at the event, but Andrews tells Action 10 News over the phone she’s definitely not.

Navy Rape Survivor’s Message to Bullied Kids Around the World

image

Jose Antonio Rodriguez is a U.S. Navy Veteran who was discriminated by ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell‘ after his sexual orientation was discovered following being drugged, kidnapped, and brutally raped. Rodriguez has since become an outspoken advocate against hate crimes, teen bullying and wants to send a message to bullied teens around the World.

Teens Worldwide:
I know it may be tough to be a young person. I know it’s hard to have to hide your true essence and live a happy childhood and be who you really are. I understand it’s hard to have to hide in front of family and friends as you grow up to be the man or woman God brought into this world. I ask you to keep faith and not give in to all the bullying and harassment.

I was once just like you, and felt the pain and mental anguish of hiding who I really was, bullied by my peers for being “different”.

I was raped by a group of men in June 2009 while I was still in the Navy. My fellow sailors then perceived me to be gay, and harassed me because of the rape at the hands of other men. They were right – I was a gay man, yet I did not deserve to be treated in a hateful manner. But I stood strong and I am winning the battle now. I ask you to do the same.

I understand how you feel, but I beg you to please not give up. Please stand strong and BE WHO YOU WANT TO BE. You are all God’s children and he loves us all!! You are beautiful to everyone. We are not different and we are all human. We all are created different and a little more special, because God made us special, with love, and with love to give. You are beautiful in my eyes and everyone’s eyes. LIVE WITH PRIDE AND LIVE IN YOUR TRUE ESSENCE! I love you all, and please don’t give up. You are the ones coming up in the world and we need a strong generation for years to come. We are not weak. So please, be patient and stand up with pride and fight for your equality!

Sincerely,
US Navy Veteran
Jose A. Rodriguez

Men become first gay couple to marry in Ciudad Juarez

image

Thursday February 13, 2014 was a historic day for civil rights in Ciudad Juarez.

A gay couple was able to get legally married after getting a federal protection order.

Eduardo Piñón and Julio Salazar needed the federal order because the Chihuahua State constitution defines marriage as the union of a man and a woman.

It is the first gay marriage in Juarez and only the second in the state of Chihuahua.

LGBT VETERAN TWEETS RE: MICHAEL SAM. “You will receive hate messages. You will be bullied.”

image

N.F.L. Prospect Michael Sam Proudly Says What Teammates Knew: He’s Gay

Michael Sam, a bruising defensive end on one of 2013’s most surprising college football teams, announced Sunday he is gay.

He didn’t back into the revelation or simply hint at it. The Missouri defender and the Associated Press’s SEC co-defensive player of the year said it, owned it, and now stands at the fringe of one of sports’ last social frontiers: becoming the first openly gay NFL player.

“I am an openly proud gay man,” Sam, 24, was quoted as saying in reports posted Sunday by ESPN and the New York Times.

LGBT Activist, Veteran Sailor Jose Rodriguez is a US Sailor who was discharged from the US NAVY after the military violated his privacy rights when outted by a civilian hospital in San Diego, CA following a brutal attack.
Jose has since become a loud voice for the lgbt community especially service members and teens who are bullied because of who they are.
“You will receive hate messages. You will be bullied. Ignore and play the game with all heart and courage because that’s what you have! It took heart and courage to do what you have done. Hopefully more will follow.”
